Online viewing room

A curated, often access-controlled web presentation of works for sale, published by a gallery.

The online viewing room emerged as the digital analogue of a private showing: a selection of works presented with context and prices, sometimes public, often passcode-protected for a specific client or preview list.

A viewing room earns its keep when it's wired to the rest of the operation — published from live inventory (so a sold work marks itself), and reporting engagement back (so the gallery knows what held a collector's attention before the follow-up call).
