Migrate from Artwork Archive

Move your Artwork Archive catalog across, artist names and all.

Why it’s a clean move

Artwork Archive exports a fixed, ordered set of columns — including a split Artist First Name / Last Name that most importers stumble on.

Our preset knows that layout: it recombines the split artist name and maps Artwork Archive's full status list — including Donated, Deaccessioned, Lost, and Work Destroyed — onto true ex-inventory states, so the map step starts mostly done.

Export from Artwork Archive

Get your data out — then bring the file to our import wizard.

  1. Export your pieces from Artwork Archive to CSV.
  2. Keep the columns in their default order — the preset expects Artwork Archive's fixed layout.
  3. Include image references if your export carries them.

What our preset maps

You confirm every column before anything commits — nothing is guessed silently.

  • Piece Name → title; split Artist First/Last → a single artist we resolve or create.
  • Medium, dimensions, description, and current location auto-map from the fixed headers.
  • The 10-value status list collapses onto our availability field.
  • Non-numeric dates (“c. 1965”) are left for you to place — our year field takes a number.

Good to know

The honest edges — small things worth a look so nothing surprises you.

  • Dimensions carry a per-account unit (inches or cm). We seed the metric fields — confirm at preview if your export is in inches.
  • The longer status list collapses onto our availability field; there's no separate On Hold or On Consignment, so those read as their nearest match.
